We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely completion of exams, including ordering, charging, and tracking.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and risks, and monitoring their safety and comfort during exams.
- Obtain complete patient histories to assist radiologists in rendering results.
- Enter data accurately, selecting the correct transducer and techniques for each exam.
- Conduct scans according to established protocols, annotating images as needed.
- Review images with radiologists to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Prepare images and studies for radiologists, relaying all relevant information.
- Assist with procedures such as amniocentesis, aspiration, and biopsies, performing preliminary studies to locate entry sites and provide guidance.
- Communicate with referring physicians for wet readings after reviewing images with radiologists.
- Perform clerical tasks, including receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
- Maintain and clean work areas and equipment, replenishing supplies as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
