The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Reviews patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters to ensure high-quality images.
- Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
This is a Registry position with no benefits. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and technical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
