Key Responsibilities:

The Systems and Optimization team is dedicated to managing transportation and transactional system interfaces, ensuring data accuracy, generating data analytics, and supporting optimization modeling for the Global Supply Chain and Logistics sector within the Commercial organization. This team aims to enhance the quality of data in our business systems, deliver reliable data analytics efficiently, and identify opportunities for logistics value chain optimization.
The SAP EDI Specialist will be tasked with overseeing and resolving daily EDI challenges, improving transactional data for transportation logistics requirements, and developing data analytic dashboards to enhance data visibility and monitoring of transactional data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, along with a collaborative spirit. This role offers insight into overall system process enhancements within the Commercial Organization and value chain, providing opportunities for growth for those who demonstrate initiative and capability.

Responsibilities may include:

• Oversee the SAP R/3 SCD (Shipment Cost Documents) and SAP S/4 VDB (Vendor Billing Documents), along with vendor solutions (error logs) to support Bulk Truck and Rail Logistics.

• Assist Business Unit requests related to the freight accrual process.

• Optimize the maintenance of freight rates to facilitate freight rate processing.

• Monitor daily Rail BOL transmissions and manage Rail EDI BOL error resolution, including Truck EDI 210.

• Identify improvement areas for error monitoring (i.e., EDI, system error logs) to support Bulk Truck and Rail Logistics.

• Enhance freight rate processes and support transportation logistics.

• Ensure data accuracy for systems involved in transportation logistics.

• Improve control reports to maintain data integrity in Truck and Rail Systems.

• Develop and propose new analytics, tools, and reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI to enhance data visibility and facilitate improved decision-making and freight payment processing.

• Collaborate with key business stakeholders to create reports and KPIs that provide transparent and timely access to logistics data.

• Assist in building KPIs for the ST&L group to better measure performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Work cross-functionally and be accountable for delivering results within set timelines.

• Provide ongoing updates on project progress to customers and stakeholders.

• Guide the Systems and Optimization organization in continuous analytical reporting and error monitoring.

• Participate in special projects or cross-functional efforts as needed.

• Own business process development, enhancement, optimization, and sustainability for assigned Commercial functions and stakeholders.

• Identify process gaps and root causes of incorrectly processed Rail BOLs for successful rail freight payment processing (Routes, EDI Error Logs, etc.).

• Execute exception reports to enhance monitoring of Global supply chain and transportation logistics process improvements.

• Generate performance analytics and metrics such as Rail EDI monitoring, VBD monitoring, rate processing monitoring, and invoice data monitoring.

• Collaborate with IT to implement SAP system changes to meet transportation logistics needs and process improvements.

• Work with IT on ongoing business requirements in freight accrual and transactional processes within logistics for continuous enhancement.

• Provide subject matter expertise in global supply chain systems, processes, functions, performance tools, and interconnectivity to drive business performance improvements.

• Create and enhance analytics for storage activity, rail utilization, inbound/outbound rail activity within facilities, rail lease expiration, predictive analytics for embargoes, and transloading.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Working knowledge of SAP.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, & PowerPoint).

• Knowledge of supply chain and/or transaction processing.

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with 2 or more years in Commercial, Procurement, Transportation, or Logistics support functions.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to adapt and learn quickly.

• Business aptitude to understand Commercial operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience using SAP S/4 HANA.

• 2 or more years of direct experience in the oil and gas logistics or transportation industry.

• Proficient in ERP search routines, electronic requisitioning, and electronic interfaces with vendors.

• Experience in multi-modal supply chain transactions.

• Ability to adapt to various computer software applications.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders across multiple functional areas.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ensuring mutual understanding.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support business-focused analysis and decisions.

• Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative and urgency to complete tasks, with the potential and desire to advance to higher responsibilities and learn the underlying commercial business.

• Self-starter with the ability to recommend process improvements for greater efficiency in the role and the organization.

• Operate effectively in a dynamic work environment.
