Job Title: SAP EDI Specialist

Location: Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

The Systems and Optimization team is tasked with managing transportation and transactional system interfaces, ensuring data accuracy, creating data analytics, and supporting optimization modeling for the Global Supply Chain and Logistics sector within the Commercial organization. The team is dedicated to enhancing the quality of data in our business systems, delivering reliable data analytics efficiently, and identifying opportunities for optimization within the logistics value chain.
The SAP EDI Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and resolving daily EDI challenges, improving transactional data for transportation logistics requirements, developing data analytic dashboards for enhanced visibility, and ensuring the integrity of transportation logistics data and processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and thrive in a collaborative environment. This role offers exposure to overall system process enhancement within the Commercial Organization and value chain, providing opportunities for advancement for those who demonstrate initiative and capability.

Responsibilities may include:

• Monitoring SAP R/3 Shipment Cost Documents and SAP S/4 Vendor Billing Documents, along with vended solutions for Bulk Truck and Rail Logistics.

• Assisting Business Unit requests concerning the freight accrual process.

• Streamlining the maintenance of freight rates to facilitate effective processing.

• Overseeing daily Rail BOL transmissions and resolving Rail EDI BOL errors, including Truck EDI 210.

• Identifying areas for improvement in error monitoring related to EDI and system error logs.

• Enhancing freight rate processes and supporting transportation logistics.

• Ensuring data integrity across transportation logistics systems.

• Developing control reports to maintain data integrity in Truck and Rail Systems.

• Creating and proposing new analytics, tools, and reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI to improve data visibility and facilitate decision-making.

• Collaborating with key business stakeholders to develop reports and KPIs for transparent access to logistics data.

• Supporting the development of KPIs for the ST&L group to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Working cross-functionally and being accountable for delivering results within set timelines.

• Providing regular updates on project progress to stakeholders.

• Guiding the Systems and Optimization organization in analytical reporting and error monitoring.

• Participating in special projects or cross-functional efforts as needed.

• Owning business process development, improvement, optimization, and sustainability for assigned Commercial functions and stakeholders.

• Identifying process gaps and root causes of incorrectly processed Rail BOLs for successful freight payment processing.

• Executing exception reports to enhance monitoring of global supply chain and transportation logistics improvements.

• Generating performance analytics and metrics for Rail EDI monitoring, Vendor Billing Document monitoring, rate processing, and invoice data monitoring.

• Collaborating with IT to implement SAP system changes that improve transportation logistics needs and processes.

• Providing subject matter expertise in global supply chain systems, processes, functions, and performance tools to drive business performance improvements.

• Creating and enhancing analytics for storage activity, rail utilization, and predictive analytics for embargoes and transloading.

Basic Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Proficient in SAP.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).

• Knowledge of supply chain and transaction processing.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 or more years in Commercial, Procurement, Transportation, or Logistics support.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to adapt and learn quickly.

• Business acumen to understand Commercial operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience with SAP S/4 HANA.

• 2 or more years of direct experience in the oil and gas logistics or transportation sector.

• Proficient in ERP search routines and electronic requisitioning.

• Experience in multi-modal supply chain transactions.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support business-focused analysis and decisions.

• High level of personal initiative and urgency to achieve results.
