Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6 months

Role Overview:

The Systems and Optimization team is dedicated to managing transportation and transactional system interfaces, ensuring the integrity of data, creating insightful data analytics, and supporting optimization modeling for the Global Supply Chain and Logistics sector within the Commercial organization. This team is committed to enhancing the quality of data in our business systems, delivering reliable data analytics efficiently, and identifying opportunities for optimization within the logistics value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the SAP R/3 Shipment Cost Documents and SAP S/4 Vendor Billing Documents, along with vended solutions, to support Bulk Truck and Rail Logistics.
  • Assist Business Unit requests related to the freight accrual process.
  • Streamline the maintenance of freight rates to enhance processing efficiency.
  • Monitor daily Rail Bill of Lading transmissions and facilitate error resolution for Rail EDI Bill of Lading, including Truck EDI 210.
  • Identify areas for improvement in error monitoring, particularly in EDI and system error logs.
  • Enhance freight rate processes and support transportation logistics.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems related to transportation logistics.
  • Develop control reports to maintain data integrity in Truck and Rail Systems.
  • Create and propose new analytics, tools, and reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI to improve data visibility and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to develop reports and KPIs for transparent access to logistics data.
  • Support the establishment of KPIs for the Supply Chain and Logistics group to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver results within set timelines.
  • Communicate project progress to customers and stakeholders regularly.
  • Guide the Systems and Optimization organization in analytical reporting and error monitoring.
  • Participate in special projects or cross-functional efforts as needed.
  • Own the development, improvement, optimization, and sustainability of business processes for assigned Commercial functions.
  • Identify process gaps and root causes for issues in Rail Bill of Lading processing.
  • Execute exception reports to enhance monitoring of Global supply chain and transportation logistics improvements.
  • Generate performance analytics and metrics related to Rail EDI monitoring, Vendor Billing Document monitoring, rate processing, and invoice data.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement SAP system changes that improve transportation logistics.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in global supply chain systems and processes to drive performance improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of supply chain and transaction processing.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a Commercial, Procurement, Transportation, or Logistics support role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Business acumen to understand Commercial operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Direct experience in the oil and gas logistics or transportation industry.
  • Proficient in ERP search routines and electronic requisitioning.
  • Experience in multi-modal supply chain transactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with initiative to recommend process improvements.
