Job Summary

The Meetings & Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of group events at Montage International. This role will work closely with the Sales Department to ensure seamless execution of group assignments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaise with group clients from turnover through post-conference review to ensure a successful meeting experience.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and communicate conference specifications to ensure execution.
  • Monitor and manage room blocks and meeting space according to contract to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Review sales contracts and validate with clients to ensure accurate information.
  • Oversee on-site event logistics, coordinating with departments and vendors to execute group requests.
  • Monitor and enforce program deadline dates to maximize hotel revenues.
  • Produce and distribute Conference Resumes and BEOs to hotel departments.
  • Accurately forecast group rooms and food and beverage revenues within a 5% variance.
  • Check sleeping room and suite block, special room concessions, and rates with group reservations agents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years' experience in Event Management or Conference Services
  • Luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Maintain flexible hours to accommodate customer and business needs
  • Delphi and Opera experience
  • Entertainment and sports market experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage products, preparation, and presentation
  • Extensive knowledge of meeting room capacities, banquet set-up, and audio-visual details
  • Possess basic math skills and ability to accurately handle billing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write, and understand English eloquently
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Work Environment

Most work tasks are performed indoors with moderate temperature control. Must be able to sit for up to 5 hours per day and walk/stand for the remainder. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.

Pay Scale

The pay scale for Meetings & Events Manager is $75,000.00 to $80,000.00.
