Auto-Owners Insurance offers a merit-based remote work program contingent on job responsibilities. Following initial in-person training, this role may allow for up to 5 days of remote work each week.

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled claims professional to manage field claims across designated counties. Candidates must reside in or near the specified regions. This position entails overseeing insurance claims in the field with general supervision throughout the claim lifecycle, including investigation, assessment, and resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations to gather facts, assess policy coverage, evaluate loss amounts, and analyze legal liabilities.
  • Manage multi-line property and casualty claims within an assigned territory, focusing primarily on property claims.
  • Enhance knowledge of insurance coverage by reviewing relevant policies, endorsements, and forms.
  • Work towards the effective resolution of claims, potentially participating in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of claims payments.
  • Conduct investigations via phone, mail, and on-site visits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in handling property and casualty claims.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing multi-line property and casualty claims, with a focus on property claims.
  • Field claims handling experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues and interpret data effectively.
  • Capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Proficiency in handling mathematical problems, including geometry and financial calculations.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record that aligns with the company's underwriting standards.
