Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations into the origin and cause of claims by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and experts.
- Identify and address complex issues, ensuring claims are handled in good faith.
- Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
- Perform on-site assessments as necessary, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements with insured parties, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
- Respond to customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and effectively close claims files.
- Interpret and apply policy documents, leases, by-laws, declarations, and contracts to assigned losses.
- Proactively communicate the claims process and status to all involved parties, addressing questions or directing them to appropriate resources.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
- Experience managing first-party and third-party multi-line claims across operational territories or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to handle moderately complex claims or similar experience.
- Strong understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the entire claims handling process.
Licensing Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Travel Expectations:
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Availability for catastrophe duty up to 75% as necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to navigate ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and similar structures. This role may require visits to locations with higher hazards than typical office environments.
- Capability to maneuver in various positions to complete tasks in diverse settings, including confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds in all directions.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to low and high temperatures.
- Work in outdoor conditions, including precipitation and wind.
- Potential for noisy environments and hazardous conditions.
- Experience in small and/or enclosed spaces.
