Role Responsibilities:
As a Property Claims Adjuster, you will:
- Conduct thorough investigations into the origin and cause of claims by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify complex issues and seek guidance as necessary, ensuring claims are handled with integrity.
- Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
- Perform on-site inspections when required, assess damages, and negotiate settlements with insured parties, claimants, and legal representatives.
- Address customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and efficiently close claims files.
- Interpret and apply policy documents, leases, and contracts to all involved parties for assigned losses.
- Proactively communicate the claims process and status to all parties, addressing questions or directing them to appropriate resources.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
- Experience managing first-party and third-party, multi-line claims across various territories.
- Experience handling moderately complex claims or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages.
- Comprehensive understanding of the claims handling process.
Licensing Requirements:
A valid driver's license is required, along with an acceptable driving record. You must obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as mandated.
Travel Expectations:
This position may require travel up to 50%, with potential catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable.
Physical Demands:
This role may involve:
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and other structures.
- Working in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
- Handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Be prepared to work in diverse conditions, including:
- Low and high temperatures.
- Outdoor elements such as rain and wind.
- Potentially noisy or hazardous environments.
- Small or enclosed spaces.
