Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Communications Operator to join our team at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our hospital's operations, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless communication between patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Switchboard Operations: Operate the hospital's telecommunications switchboard system, handling incoming and outgoing calls in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Call Routing: Direct calls to the appropriate departments, clinics, or individuals, ensuring accurate and efficient call routing.
  • Customer Service: Greet callers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing a positive first impression of the hospital.
  • Information Provision: Respond to inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff, providing information about hospital services, visiting hours, and general inquiries.
  • Directory Maintenance: Maintain an up-to-date directory of hospital staff, departments, and extensions, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations by promptly connecting calls to the appropriate emergency response teams.
  • Paging and Alarms: Handle internal paging requests for hospital staff, physicians, and other personnel as required, and monitor and respond to alarms and emergency codes, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other hospital departments to coordinate communication during critical situations or emergencies.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, updating call logs, and generating reports as needed.
