Job Overview

Position: Electronics Testing Specialist II (2nd Shift)

Industry: Heavy Machinery Manufacturing

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Work Schedule: 2nd shift hours from 1 pm to 9 pm Central (initial training on 1st shift)

Role Summary:

  • Oversee and evaluate laboratory tests, executing basic corrective measures, and liaising with the relevant personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace as time permits.
  • Mandatory use of metatarsal boots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify issues in defective electronic assemblies, following provided instructions.
  • Document and keep accurate records of all work performed.
  • Report any process or design issues to the supervisor and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Carry out manual testing of electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with engineering guidelines.
  • Engage in professional and effective communication with team members and other departments.
  • Update testing documentation as needed for prototype developments.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians when necessary.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by supervisors and management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent practical experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques to ascertain root causes of issues.
  • Knowledge of testing instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to interpret basic engineering documents, including schematics and diagrams.
  • Capability to understand product/process component datasheets.
  • Skill in assembling and disassembling electronic products.
  • Competence in maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Basic mechanical skills for various tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Preferred experience of three or more years in a related field.
  • Educational background in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong communication skills for effective correspondence with internal departments and vendors.
