Job Overview:

The Electronics Test Specialist II is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and evaluations of electronic assemblies to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute inspections and tests to ascertain the reasons behind defective electronic assemblies, following provided guidelines.
  2. Maintain accurate documentation and records of all testing activities.
  3. Notify supervisors of any process or design issues and contribute to corrective measures.
  4. Perform manual testing of electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with engineering specifications.
  5. Engage with colleagues in a professional and constructive manner.
  6. Revise test documentation as necessary for prototype products.
  7. Offer training and support to junior technicians as needed.
  8. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors and management.

Education Requirements:

A.S. degree in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience is required.

Essential Skills:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and vendors.
  2. Proficient in using personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  3. Solid understanding of troubleshooting techniques to determine root causes of issues.
  4. Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  5. Ability to interpret basic engineering documents, including schematics and diagrams.
  6. Capability to understand product and process component datasheets.
  7. Skill in assembling and disassembling electronic products.
  8. Competence in maintaining laboratory equipment.
  9. Basic mechanical skills are required.
  10. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience Requirements:

  1. Minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
  2. Preferred: Three or more years of related experience.
  3. Possession of an A.S. degree in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience.
  4. Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies to identify root causes.
  5. Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  6. Effective written and verbal communication skills for correspondence with internal departments and vendors.
