Job Overview:

  • As an Electrical Technician, your primary responsibility will be to conduct inspections and tests to identify faults in electronic assemblies. You will be expected to maintain thorough documentation of your activities, perform manual testing of circuits and PCBs according to engineering specifications, and collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members. Your expertise in troubleshooting, test equipment, and engineering documentation will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections and tests to ascertain the causes of defects in electronic assemblies as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records related to the work performed.
  • Notify supervisors of any process or design issues and assist in implementing corrective measures.
  • Execute manual testing of electronic circuits and PCBs in accordance with engineering guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues.
  • Update testing documentation as necessary for prototype products.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced technicians when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors and management.

Required Qualifications:

  • A.S. in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and vendors.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies to identify root causes of issues.
  • Knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to interpret basic engineering documents, including schematics and diagrams.
  • Capable of understanding product/process component datasheets.
  • Skilled in assembling and disassembling products.
  • Adept at maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Competent in performing basic mechanical tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
