We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to provide support across various divisions within the government customer's Signals Intelligence sector, specifically in the Fort Meade Maryland area. The chosen candidate will engage with government representatives on technical aspects of Systems Engineering, addressing associated challenges and communicating effectively with program staff, government officials, and senior leadership. They will ensure the technical soundness, quality, and thoroughness of all work and deliverables.

The appointed systems engineer will collaborate within the designated government unit to offer systems engineering assistance, decision-making support, and technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of supported systems. We are particularly interested in experienced systems engineers to assist with:

  • Defining Stakeholder Requirements, Conducting Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal;
  • Project Planning, Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement Planning;
  • Managing Project Portfolios, Infrastructure, Lifecycle Models, and Quality Assurance.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 20 years of systems engineering experience. Alternatively, a high school diploma or GED combined with 24 years of systems engineering experience is acceptable.
    • A Master's degree or PhD may substitute for two years of experience.
  • This is a full-time role requiring 1880 hours of annual support.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the development and/or technical evaluation of Unified Architectural Framework (UAF) or the predecessor Department of Defense (DoD) Architecture Framework (DoDAF) models and artifacts is highly valued. Familiarity with Cameo or IBM Systems Architect is particularly sought after.
  • While prior knowledge of customer systems and processes is not mandatory, candidates with a robust understanding of these systems will have an advantage during the selection process.
  • There is a continuous demand for systems engineers with hands-on experience in network security accreditation/Risk Management Framework (RMF), contributions to system security plans, and management of Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs). Candidates holding a current DODD 8570 Certification (e.g., Security+) are especially preferred.
