We are looking for a qualified Intermediate Mission Systems Architect to join our team.

Position Overview:

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Mission Systems Architect to engage in digital modeling of naval missions, warfare scenarios, and the analysis of naval combat operations. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of mission-level modeling and simulation products, ensuring documented pedigree and the creation of mission engineering requirements, architectures, and analyses, all with a focus on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and tools.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active SECRET security clearance is mandatory, with eligibility for an interim TOP SECRET clearance to be obtained promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize MagicDraw and other integrated architecture tools to develop cohesive architectures employing UML, SysML, UPDM, and UAF methodologies.
  • Create architectures informed by naval missions and a deep understanding of current and anticipated operational challenges and performance gaps.
  • Formulate operational scenarios and mission threads using a blend of architecture tools and standard MS Office applications.
  • Provide systems engineering support to advance next-generation warfare through requirements engineering, architectural design, and initial design for advanced integration concepts.
  • Conduct concept development, trade studies, operational capability gap analysis, and performance requirements development, alongside functional architecture definition and allocation, system definition, and performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, demonstrating knowledge of industry-standard architecture and modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (DoDAF, UAF), as well as proficiency in an industry-standard architecture tool (e.g., MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Rational System Architect).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other combat systems.
  • Proven track record in integrating technologies into operational-level architectures.
  • Experience collaborating with operational forces.
  • Familiarity with working alongside a diverse community of Navy mission partners, including Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other Department of Defense agencies.

Travel Considerations:

  • Telework options are available; however, the candidate must be able to be on-site for customer engagements and classified system processing.
  • Potential travel requirements of up to 25% to various Navy concentration areas.
