Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Intermediate Software Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team at Vets Hired. This role involves engaging in various stages of software development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and enhancing software applications based on detailed requirements.
  • Creating, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting features and modifications of applications.
  • Evaluating and improving existing enterprise applications to incorporate new functionalities, enhance performance, and facilitate upgrades.
  • Conducting performance, load, and stress testing, along with addressing any identified issues.
  • Engaging in security architecture evaluations for large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Contributing to the entire application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Assisting in activities that promote effective system usage, such as developing documentation, test scripts, and training resources.
  • Collaborating within an agile team environment, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily standups.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship and an Active or Interim DoD SECRET clearance, with the capability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
  • DoDD Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I certification or higher.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and analyzing enterprise-scale applications utilizing technologies such as .NET Core, Angular, JavaScript, C#, and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency with modern development tools, including Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, git, unit testing frameworks, and task tracking systems like GitLab.
  • Experience in designing and implementing ETL operations with external data sources and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as git and mercurial.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software requirements definition, design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle, architecture, and documentation.
  • Proficient in at least one Object-oriented programming (OOP) language, such as C, Java, or Python.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the aforementioned areas.
  • At least three years of experience in Agile software development and microservice architecture, particularly in C#, Angular, TypeScript, and SQL Server or other relational databases.
