The Jacobs Lone Wolf Team is dedicated to the operation, support, and maintenance of the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES). This global communications network, classified as TS/SCI, integrates voice, video, and data services to enhance collaboration among senior leaders and essential personnel.

Success in this position requires a quick adaptability and a willingness to learn the operational intricacies of new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the operations lead for extensive enterprise (3,000+) Tier III voice and video services, collaborating closely with Network Engineering and Help Desk/Network Operations teams to address and resolve service issues.
  • Monitor and track the Unified Collaboration environment of telephony and video conferencing endpoints, ensuring optimal system performance and proactively addressing problems or outages.
  • Develop troubleshooting protocols and document significant system events that impact services. Play a crucial role in creating, reviewing, and presenting best practices and support services to uphold system functionality.
  • Plan and oversee all voice and video system patches, upgrades, or service updates that affect ongoing operations, providing timely responses to system vulnerability updates with clear implementation strategies.
  • Maintain daily reporting on system status and manage ticket resolution for high-visibility issues.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of VMWare and Cisco Unified Computing System integration.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to troubleshoot intricate issues related to VoIP, VoIP interfacing applications, and other converged technologies.
  • Administer systems including, but not limited to, Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber, and CIPC.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI.
  • 15 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (any higher version is also acceptable).
  • Current CCNA certification.
  • Telecommunications technical experience in installing, administering, and upgrading Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager, IM & Presence services), Cisco Telepresence, Cisco Prime Collaboration, Cisco Unity Connection (Jabber), and Unified Contact Center Express. Experience with upgrading Cisco Unified Communications Manager to the latest release is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in implementing, troubleshooting, and documenting converged networks utilizing Cisco UC capabilities to connect Cisco, Tandberg, and Polycom endpoints, gateways, and teleconference bridge products.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting voice and video issues in an enterprise or service provider setting under tight deadlines, involving complex networks across multiple firewalls and geographical locations.
  • Responsible for providing and managing Tier III level resolution and customer support for all VoIP and DVTC issues across the enterprise. This includes outage documentation using customer-provided Incident Tracking software.
  • Ability to configure and maintain IOS environments for voice gateways.
  • Independently deploy and maintain server-based and router-based dial plans, as well as manage various Cisco Servers.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting common VoIP issues, including endpoint, trunk, dial plan, and profile corrections.
  • Understanding of Tandberg Management System and license requirements for device and server maintenance.
  • Proficient in managing conferences through the MCU/MCS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common VTC issues, including identifying failed endpoints and bandwidth saturation.
  • Demonstrated capability to convey system networking across diverse topologies and environments.
  • Hands-on technical experience in troubleshooting installation and break/fix issues associated with Voice and/or Video over IP products.
  • Lead the UC team in ticket resolution for voice and video end-users, coordinating with Cisco TAC and Business Support groups.
  • Experience configuring Cisco routers as VoIP gateways and a strong understanding of Cisco IOS command syntax.
  • Experience analyzing Ethernet packet captures and studying network traffic flows to identify connectivity and performance issues.
  • Familiarity with SIP and H.323, Unified Messaging systems, audio conference bridge systems, voice circuits, and crypto technology for voice systems.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Preferred).
  • Experience: Network engineering: 5 years (Preferred), VoIP: 8 years (Required).
  • Licenses/Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (Required), CCNA Collaboration (Required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a UC environment for a large enterprise.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN).
  • Knowledge of DoD/IC voice/video technologies.
