Compensation Range: $100,000 - $110,000

Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board of Directors to drive the strategic vision of the organization. This role is essential in ensuring that our programs and services deliver significant value to our members. The CEO will also act as a key advocate for the accounting profession, engaging with stakeholders including legislators and educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Board to create and execute the strategic plan.
  2. Provide regular updates to the Board regarding strategic initiatives and organizational projects.
  3. Engage with the AICPA and other state CPA societies to identify best practices and innovative ideas.
  4. Conduct outreach to members to assess their needs and expectations from the organization.
  5. Propose new initiatives to the Board to enhance the organization’s role as a vital resource for the accounting community.
  6. Encourage board members and members to participate actively in events and programs.
  7. Lead efforts to recruit CPAs across the state to become members.
  8. Ensure high-quality execution of membership meetings, programs, and services.
  9. Organize various meetings including legislative updates and membership elections.
  10. Coordinate with educational institutions to promote accounting career opportunities to students.
  11. Enhance all aspects of organizational communication to strengthen our brand identity.
  12. Serve as the primary representative for lobbying efforts at both state and federal levels.
  13. Recommend process improvements to the Board for enhanced operational efficiency.
  14. Manage and engage volunteers effectively.
  15. Oversee membership renewals and financial record-keeping.
  16. Perform essential administrative tasks including bookkeeping and vendor management.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A CPA license and accounting background are advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in professional societies. Familiarity with the accounting field, both public and private, is desirable, along with experience in board collaboration and volunteer management. Strong public speaking, organizational skills, and a commitment to the profession are essential.
