Job Summary

The Fountain Group is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of our site's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSE-MS) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSE Programs: Design, implement, and monitor site environmental, health, and safety programs, including contractor safety, ergonomics, laboratory and chemical safety, hazardous waste, and wastewater management.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Verify compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and occupational regulations and permits, including the Department of Environmental Protection, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.
  • Lead Risk Assessments: Conduct job hazard analyses, hazardous chemicals, and ergonomics risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Conduct Inspections and Investigations: Perform comprehensive environmental, health, and safety inspections of laboratories and facilities, and conduct accident/incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Certification/Experience: Possess a certification in hazardous materials management (CHMM) or be willing to obtain it, or have equivalent experience in environmental health and safety.
  • Contract Type: This is a contract position with a minimum of 1 year, with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.
  • Pay: Salary is open and dependent on experience.
