Job Title: Occupational Health Registered Nurse

As an Occupational Health Registered Nurse, you will be part of our team in Waltham, MA, providing high-quality care to our members. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating patient care needs, prioritizing treatment, and maintaining patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient care needs and prioritize treatment
  • Conduct nursing assessments, including patient history and physical assessment, vital signs, and medical tests
  • Provide treatment within scope of practice, as defined by state law
  • Collaborate with Physicians or other Licensed Independent Practitioners to arrange further medical treatment, when needed
  • Identify equipment that needs repair and bring it to the attention of the lead clinician
  • Perform occupational and health screening tests, as defined in site contract
  • Conduct laboratory tests and quality control procedures
  • Document all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow-up care arranged
  • Evaluate health education/promotion needs of patients and provide necessary training and instruction
  • Identify emergency situations and provide care within legal scope of practice
  • Administer medications and medical treatments competently, as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner
  • Maintain medical records using Electronic Medical Record software
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, following infection control procedures
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidential patient information
  • Participate in follow-up phone calls and follow-up patient visits
Requirements:
  • Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associates' degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred.
  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
  • Current hands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management preferred.
Preferred Experience:

At least three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic.

Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.

Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
