Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Process Monitoring Engineer to enhance our operations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to optimize the performance of the olefins unit, cyclohexane unit, boiler unit, and associated areas. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to troubleshoot issues and implement projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-the-spot process evaluations based on operational demands and market trends.
  • Assist in resolving unit challenges and participate in significant unit maintenance activities.
  • Engage in best practice initiatives and benchmarking exercises to enhance safety and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the process team to refine operational planning and maintain economic models for the ethylene unit.
  • May take on leadership roles during incident investigations.
  • Work alongside corporate technical teams to address plant challenges.
  • Support the maintenance of site-wide mass and energy balance assessments.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in process engineering, particularly in chemical or petrochemical environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations, management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting across unit operations.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with diverse plant personnel.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in olefins or refining operations.
  • Five or more years of process engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical setting.
  • Familiarity with Chevron Engineering Standards.
  • Experience with LP modeling and Aspen/PIMS software.
