Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Process Monitoring Engineer who will play a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of our chemical manufacturing processes. This role involves close collaboration with various plant teams to ensure the smooth functioning and continuous enhancement of multiple units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spontaneous process evaluations as required by operational demands and market dynamics.
  • Assist in troubleshooting operational challenges and engage in significant unit maintenance activities.
  • Participate in benchmarking initiatives and best practice teams aimed at improving safety and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the process group to refine economic models for the ethylene unit, supporting operational planning.
  • May take on leadership roles in incident investigations.
  • Work alongside the corporate technical team to devise solutions for plant-related issues.
  • Support the maintenance of site mass and energy balances.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations, colleagues, plant management, and business unit personnel.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with plant personnel.
  • Capability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an olefins or refining facility.
  • At least 5 years of process engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical setting.
  • Familiarity with Chevron Engineering Standards.
  • Experience with LP modeling and Aspen/PIMS.
