Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Process Monitoring Engineer to enhance our operations. This role is crucial for collaborating with various plant teams to drive the performance and ongoing enhancement of the olefins unit, cyclohexane unit, boiler unit, and associated areas. The Process Monitoring Engineer will leverage their expertise to address operational challenges and facilitate project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct spontaneous process evaluations based on operational demands and market dynamics.
  • Assist operational teams in diagnosing unit challenges and contribute to significant unit maintenance activities.
  • Engage in best practice initiatives and benchmarking efforts aimed at elevating safety and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the process group to optimize operational planning and enhance economic models for the ethylene unit.
  • May assume leadership roles in incident investigation processes.
  • Partner with corporate technical teams to devise solutions for plant-related issues.
  • Support the maintenance of site mass and energy balance documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering, predominantly within a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations, colleagues, plant management, and business unit teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting across various unit operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with plant personnel.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an olefins or refining facility.
  • At least 5 years of process engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical setting.
  • Familiarity with Chevron Engineering Standards.
  • Experience with LP modeling and Aspen/PIMS software.
