Work Schedule:

The Senior Production Engineer role is responsible for overseeing the execution of distillation and specialty batch projects, serving as a technical advisor for operational teams. This position applies engineering expertise to enhance plant efficiency, implements yield enhancement initiatives, and contributes to the development of operational procedures and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Production Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Leading the management of distillation and specialty batch projects, ensuring asset reliability and optimizing operational costs.
  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager to provide chemical engineering insights for specific product initiatives.
  • Working alongside Technical Staff and plant personnel to enhance operational performance and achieve production targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with product specifications in partnership with Quality Assurance teams.
  • Assisting the Engineering Department in devising cost-effective strategies to improve production processes and reduce capital expenditures.
  • Developing and refining operational guidelines and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory standards, including HSE and Process Safety requirements.
  • Engaging with operators on-site to identify opportunities for process and safety enhancements.

Additionally, you will:

  • Facilitate pre-project meetings to discuss all aspects of project execution.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing plant activities, including mass balances and process evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of open communication across the organization.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

Experience / Required Skills:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably in a batch or semi-continuous manufacturing environment. Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with all organizational levels are required. Experience with Delta V systems is advantageous.

Physical Demands:

This role may require:

  • Extended periods of walking or standing, as well as working from a seated position.
  • Ascending or descending ladders and maintaining balance on various surfaces.
  • Exerting physical force to move objects and using upper extremities for various tasks.

Compliance with safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
