Responsibilities

As a Cardiac Imaging Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with procedures and providing diagnostic support through organ or body scans.
  • Preparing and positioning patients while accurately selecting anatomical and technical parameters.
  • Administering contrast media and medications in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
  • Monitoring patients during procedures and reporting any unusual findings.
  • Reviewing protocols and suggesting updates or improvements as necessary.
  • Adhering to radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Performing specialized imaging procedures, including angiography and complex vascular interventions, while assisting the Radiologist or Physician Assistant.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards in all activities.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification:
    • BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer is required. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
    • One of the following credentials is required:
      • Cardiographic Tech credential from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) prior to hire or transfer.
      • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) prior to hire or transfer. A Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency is also required.
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credential from CCI is preferred.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

We welcome new graduates to apply. The position requires Monday to Friday 10-hour shifts with on-call duties, but no weekend or holiday work. Shifts may vary, and call responsibilities will be approximately 1-2 nights during the week and every fourth weekend, subject to staffing needs.
