The Computed Tomography Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services for the assessment of medical conditions. This position is essential in ensuring that patients receive accurate diagnoses through advanced imaging techniques.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Computed Tomography Technologist include:

  • Conducting computerized tomographic scans to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries, adhering to established protocols.
  • Accurately preparing and positioning patients while selecting appropriate technical parameters.
  • Administering contrast media and medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitoring patients during procedures and reporting any irregularities.
  • Reviewing and suggesting updates to imaging protocols as necessary.
  • Adhering to radiation safety standards and guidelines.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
    • Radiologic Technologist certification from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) prior to hire.
    • One of the following credentials:
      • Nuclear Medical Tech certification from the NMTCB or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography.
      • ARRT certification in Radiography with specialties in Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy.
      • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

Preferred work schedule includes Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends and on-call duties.
