Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our Diagnostic Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing vascular diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease or obstructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for the presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results, and report results.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition; report deficiencies and failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist issued by Radiology Tech licensure issued by the Illinois Emergency Mgmt Agency required in combination with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications
  • This position will float between SAMC and ABMC, but all training will be at ABMC.
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
