The role of the Computed Tomography Technologist involves performing advanced imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions. This position is essential in delivering high-quality care to patients through the use of sophisticated imaging technology.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct computerized tomographic examinations following established protocols.
- Accurately prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
- Administer contrast agents and medications in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any unusual findings.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and recommend improvements as necessary.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current BLS certification required within the first month of employment.
- Radiologic Technologist credentials from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) are mandatory prior to starting.
- Certification in Computed Tomography from recognized boards is required.
Education:
- A high school diploma with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field, or four years of job-specific experience is required.
This position typically operates on a full-time basis with evening shifts and includes rotating weekends and on-call duties.
