Job Overview

Position Summary: The role involves supporting the House Manager in overseeing the operations of a residential care facility dedicated to individuals with special needs. The Assistant Manager is expected to work shifts that complement the House Manager's schedule, ensuring effective supervision, guidance, and accountability for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the acting supervisor during assigned shifts to maintain structured living environments.
  • Foster a nurturing, family-oriented atmosphere for residents.
  • Assist the House Manager in staff supervision and development, including leading staff meetings and facilitating team-building activities.
  • Engage in regular supervision sessions with the House Manager to discuss resident needs and staff issues.

Medication Management:

  • Oversee medication administration, including regular counts and reordering as necessary.
  • Act as the primary contact for medication-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of each resident's medical history.

Documentation and Coordination:

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, including communication logs and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with the House Manager and staff to plan engaging weekend activities that promote personal growth and community involvement.

Additional Duties:

  • Manage meal planning and grocery procurement.
  • Handle various administrative tasks, including expense tracking and reporting.
  • Transport residents to appointments and community outings.
  • Play an active role in promoting the health and well-being of each resident.
  • Be available for on-call support during weekends.
  • Utilize appropriate behavioral intervention techniques when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Associate's Degree or one year of relevant experience required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • Reliable transportation and communication methods are necessary.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check for certification.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications is required.
  • Commitment to upholding company values in all professional interactions.
  • Completion of necessary training, including CPR and First Aid, is required.
