Job Overview

The role of the Assistant House Manager is crucial in supporting the overall operations of a group home dedicated to individuals with special needs. This position involves working closely with the House Manager to ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the acting supervisor during assigned shifts, fostering a structured living environment.
  • Promote a positive, family-oriented atmosphere for residents.
  • Assist the House Manager in overseeing and developing staff, including leading staff meetings and facilitating team-building activities.
  • Engage in regular supervision sessions with the House Manager to discuss resident needs and staff dynamics.
Medication Management:

Take charge of all aspects related to resident medication, including:

  • Conducting medication counts on a weekly basis.
  • Reordering medications when supplies are low.
  • Being the primary contact for any medication-related inquiries.
  • Maintaining knowledge of each resident's medical history.
Documentation and Coordination:

Ensure meticulous documentation of all activities, including:

  • Maintaining communication logs, attendance records, and incident reports.
  • Collaborating with the House Manager and staff to plan weekend activities that enhance residents' experiences.
Additional Duties:

Responsibilities may also include:

  • Planning meals and managing grocery orders.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including expense reports and progress documentation.
  • Transporting residents to appointments and activities.
  • Actively participating in the health and well-being of each resident.
  • Implementing the principles of Servant Leadership and adhering to organizational values.
  • Being available for on-call support during weekends.
  • Utilizing appropriate behavioral intervention techniques when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Associates Degree or one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • Reliable transportation and communication methods are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check for fingerprint clearance.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Calendar, and Outlook is required.
  • Commitment to upholding company values in all professional interactions.
  • Completion of necessary training, including CPR and First Aid, is required.
