Position Overview

In this role, you will work under close supervision to execute a diverse range of electronic and electromechanical assembly tasks. Your responsibilities will include assembling and constructing basic units such as power supplies, modules, and electronic systems. You will utilize soldering techniques for both through-hole and surface mount components, as well as installing discrete components onto printed circuit assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions with general oversight, applying established workmanship standards to all electronic assembly tasks.
  • Interpret and utilize electromechanical schematics, drawings, and bills of material to complete assigned assemblies effectively.
  • Read worksheets and wiring diagrams to select appropriate components, including transistors, resistors, and capacitors.
  • Assemble components on chassis panels, demonstrating manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and ensure proper routing between components.
  • Position and align parts accurately in jigs or fixtures.
  • Utilize various methods such as crimping, soldering, and bonding to secure components in place.
  • Employ hand and small power tools for component placement and perform basic inspections and tests.
  • Engage in additional assembly tasks, including potting, encapsulating, and cleaning components.
  • Adjust materials to meet specified electrical or dimensional requirements.
  • Conduct hand soldering and perform inspections under a microscope as needed.
  • Execute online testing to verify that assemblies meet production standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective units, ensuring quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Document production activities accurately on logs and reports.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma is required, along with some vocational or technical training; 0-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
