Position Overview:

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator engages in various professional activities to facilitate the smooth functioning of the HR Department. This role encompasses administrative responsibilities, including the management of sensitive and confidential communications.

Compensation: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage confidential materials and make decisions in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records for current and former employees, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and organized.
  • Review candidate applications and conduct preliminary phone interviews to support the recruitment process.
  • Provide administrative assistance for the Predictive Index (PI) job targeting procedures, including distributing assessments to candidates.
  • Retrieve onboarding documents for prospective hires from the Agency's Application Tracking System.
  • Assist in executing and monitoring pre-employment background checks as required.
  • Collaborate with new employees to gather and organize onboarding paperwork, ensuring accuracy before their start date.
  • Create personnel files for new staff members.
  • Input new hire information into the Agency's Human Resources Information System.
  • Facilitate and coordinate new employee orientation sessions.
  • Process employment verification requests.
  • Oversee the employee auto insurance compliance process from initiation to completion.
  • Organize and submit HR-related financial requests for processing, including managing the monthly HR credit card statements.
  • Maintain the homepage of the Agency's Human Resources Information System.
  • Order necessary office supplies for the HR department.
  • Manage the process for agency sympathy gift requests.
  • Oversee the issuance of agency anniversary certificates.
  • Provide support across all HR functions and assist the Director of HR as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor based on organizational needs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong time management and project coordination skills.
  • Highly motivated and organized.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • A valid Michigan driver's license, a clean driving record, and personal auto insurance as mandated by law are necessary.
  • Must undergo Agency-approved background checks.

Recommended Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is required.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields is required, with HR-specific experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Application Tracking Systems is highly preferred.

No specific certifications are required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.
