Job Title: Director, Software Risk Management

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Director, Software Risk Management to join our Enterprise Services Risk Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing risk management support to our Software line of business.

About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned risk management professional with a strong background in software risk management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of risk methodologies and be able to build relationships with business and risk partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Capital One Software to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing, and related risk assessment activities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile.
  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas.
  • Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed.
  • Implement process improvements: process certification framework, process hierarchy change management, change control, and risk reporting.
  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project/program efforts.
  • Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience, and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Risk Management.
  • At least 8 years of People Management experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management, risk program management, Cloud risk management, or process management.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting or partnering with internal clients, external clients, or a combination of the two.
  • At least 8 years of experience consulting with senior executives.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management, process management, or agile delivery.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing senior stakeholders across different business functions.
  • At least 10 years of experience writing communications and presentations for leadership audiences.
  • At least 10 years of experience in strategy development in financial or technology services.
