Team Dynamics

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee and collaborate with enthusiastic, cross-functional teams where teamwork is essential. This team is responsible for a crucial suite of Trade Finance applications.

Role Responsibilities

In the capacity of Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership, guidance, and vision to engineers, offshore contractors, platform suppliers, and other specialists. You will also be expected to communicate progress to senior management. Additional duties may include managing the departmental budget, identifying and nurturing talent, and defining resource needs and allocations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a team of software engineers and offshore resources to produce high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Offering technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
  • Establishing technical standards and conducting reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise and architectural standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and architects, to define requirements and design solutions for our product suite.
  • Driving the agile development process, establishing best practices, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

  • Current experience in Software Engineering (Java, Python) and managing a team of technologists.
  • Proficient in project planning and management tools to oversee project progress, budget, and scope.
  • Experience in developing Cloud-native solutions and familiarity with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Skilled in code reviews and development methodologies, with a proven ability to lead test-driven development.
  • Expertise in software development processes, particularly Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), along with knowledge in data modeling, design, and optimization.
  • Experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
