Team Dynamics

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee and collaborate with enthusiastic, cross-functional teams where teamwork is essential. This team is responsible for a vital suite of Trade Finance applications.

Role Responsibilities

In your capacity as Engineering Manager, you will deliver leadership, management, and strategic direction to engineers, offshore contractors, platform providers, and other specialists. You will also be expected to communicate progress to senior management. Additional duties may encompass budget oversight, talent identification and support, and defining resource needs and allocations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor a team of software engineers and offshore resources to produce high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Lead the establishment of technical standards and conduct reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise and architectural standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and architects, to outline requirements and design solutions for our product suite.
  • Facilitate the agile development process, implement best practices, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current experience in Software Engineering (Java, Python) and managing a team of technologists.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and management tools to oversee project progress, budget, and scope.
  • Experience in developing Cloud-native solutions and familiarity with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Background in code reviews and development methodologies, with a proven ability to lead test-driven development.
  • Expertise in software development processes and applicable methodologies (e.g., Agile). Proficient in data modeling, design, optimization, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
