**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining our medical devices in the field. You will work closely with our customers to ensure their satisfaction and provide exceptional service.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Install, repair, and maintain medical devices in the field, including preventative maintenance and upgrades.
  • Represent Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc. at customer locations and work to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain all company property, including inventory, tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicles, in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, management, sales, and technical support.
  • Diagnose and repair designated products within an assigned service territory, including preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.
  • Complete work assignments as directed from management and work schedules as dispatched from the call center.
  • Submit daily and weekly reports according to written procedures.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory according to company guidelines and return specific spare parts as designated by policy.
  • Interface with customers in a professional, pleasant, and calm demeanor.
  • Other duties may include instructing customers on operation and maintenance of equipment.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in electronics, fine mechanics, optics, or medical field service.
  • BS in electronics, engineering, or computer technology and related fields preferred.
  • A+ and Net+ certification preferred.
  • Ability to think through difficult customer issues and generate satisfactory customer satisfaction results.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with limited management oversight.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to pass required training to service fine mechanics and optics.
  • Multiple project and time management skills are required.

**Special Demands**

  • Extensive overnight travel is required by automobile and air.
  • Must be willing to travel in the US and internationally for training, meetings, exhibit support, and coverage outside assigned territory.
  • The position requires an average of four (4) hours driving per day.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • On occasion, may need to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Thirty percent of the average workday is spent standing or walking.
