Position Overview:
The Front Desk Manager oversees the daily operations of the front desk, serving as the primary point of contact for guests and coordinating with various hotel departments. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless guest registration and check-out process, as well as managing telephone services efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee that guest arrival and departure procedures are executed smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that the front desk team accurately processes financial transactions, maintaining precise records of guest accounts and hotel charges.
  • Manage cash transactions at the front desk, adhering to hotel policies regarding cash handling.
  • Assist the Assistant General Manager with performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff terminations as necessary.
  • Coordinate guest services, including group arrivals and departures, to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Foster positive relationships with valet and taxi services to ensure smooth transportation for guests.
  • Provide guests with information and recommendations regarding local dining, entertainment, and events to maximize satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Implement emergency protocols to safeguard guests, staff, and hotel assets.
  • Ensure that all duties assigned to Front Desk Associates are completed daily.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
A minimum of two years in a supervisory role at the front desk or four years of experience in hotel front office operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of guest services and hotel operations.
  • Strong mathematical skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include the ability to read written communication, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require bending and kneeling. The role necessitates mobility throughout the hotel to assist guests effectively.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily indoors, in a climate-controlled setting.
