This role is vital in promoting the health and welfare of animals while engaging in innovative practices that benefit both animals and humans.

Qualifications Required
- Associate's degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong multitasking abilities and effective collaboration skills with team members, along with basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a veterinary setting, particularly with large animals
- Certification as a Veterinary Assistant
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Certification
- Experience with veterinary tools and equipment in an educational environment
- Expertise in handling and restraining large animals, recognizing health concerns, and understanding Biosafety Level 2 Procedures
- Experience in blood sampling, administering vaccines and medications, and using various laboratory instruments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Key Responsibilities
- Animal Care: Assist with medication administration, maintain medical documentation, collect samples, and provide surgical support
- Facility Maintenance: Offer clinical assistance, monitor animal health, ensure sanitation, and prepare animal habitats
- Anesthesia Support: Aid in the setup and monitoring of anesthesia, as well as provide critical care when necessary
- Bio-safety Compliance: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Bioscience Facility, and assist in research trials as needed
