Fitness Connection Sales Manager Job Description

In this dynamic role, you will oversee the sales team at Fitness Connection, driving membership growth and revenue while maintaining exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include leading a high-performing sales team, providing coaching and feedback, and developing strategies to achieve sales targets.

Responsibilities
  • People Leadership: Lead a high-performing sales team, maintain a focus on coaching, feedback, and accountability to achieve club sales results.
  • Recruitment and Development: Recruit, hire, and promote Fitness Consultants, develop and train new and newly promoted Fitness Consultants, and identify high-potential talent for growth.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute proactive plans to drive sales results, generate sales leads through member referrals, networking, formal presentations, and phone calls, and conduct club tours for guests and potential members.
  • Results Driven: Achieve club and personal revenue goals for membership, service, and proshop, manage and direct all sales team activities to ensure that revenue and minimum production requirements are achieved.
  • Club Operations: Maintain strong and consistent people practices with all teammates, take appropriate action as needed, create sales schedules to ensure accurate coverage and efficient use of labor hours, and submit for CM approval.

Our Sales Managers are part of a single club location leadership team and directly supervise a portion of the hourly teammates in that location. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: For external hire, minimum of 12 months of similar experience with a proven record of success required, preferably in the fitness industry. For internal promotion, minimum of six months as a high-performing Fitness Consultant with Fitness Connection, must be in good company standing, and have a proven record of performance.
  • Skills: Knowledge of the fitness industry, sales acumen, staffing, and technology systems, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and ability to adapt to new systems easily.
