Job Title: Administrative Assistant Boards and Commissions Information System Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant Boards and Commissions Information System Supervisor to join our team at the Kentucky Board of Nursing. As a key member of our Information Systems Section, you will provide professional support in developing, implementing, and maintaining various activities, and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as point of contact for all agency IT issues.
  • Receives and assesses all requests for technical assistance submitted through the IT service system.
  • Assigns tech assistance requests that can be handled internally to a Resource Management Analyst or addresses them personally.
  • Routes technical assistance requests that cannot be handled internally to COT or another appropriate entity.
  • Serves as supervisor for all Information Management staff.
  • Performs such supervisory duties as hiring, training, discipline, timekeeping, performance evaluation, and task assignment.
  • Performs onboarding of all new KBN staff. Working from a standardized checklist, makes sure all new staff members are issued computers, phones and all other tech equipment necessary to perform their jobs and provide training on each.
  • Ensures new staff have all necessary access and permissions to agency networks, databases, email accounts and other systems and provides necessary training.
  • Evaluates agency technical needs and researches options to address them.
  • Makes recommendations to upper management regarding new software options.
  • Submits purchase requests for new equipment.
  • Tests system upgrades and reviews hardware and software changes to verify functionality.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.
