Job Summary

Merrick Printing is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Technician to join our team of technology support professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, Windows operating systems, and M365 administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, install, and maintain all networking software and hardware
  • Oversee network performance and provide end-user support
  • Manage corporate web content filtering and evaluate new tools or solutions to improve security and performance
  • Review vulnerabilities and apply security updates and upgrades
  • Evaluate software and OS compatibility to maintain current versions of various software
  • Maintain documentation of LAN ports and equipment
  • Maintain inventory of parts and equipment
  • Plan and implement server OS and applications installations and upgrades
  • Work with vendor support services for managing specialized software applications
  • Installation of workstations and applications
  • Onboarding of new employees
  • Add/Remove IP phones/softphones as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members as needed to carry out various projects
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Provide support to Merrick users
  • Utilize helpdesk software to provide support to users, track software and hardware, purchase requests, resolutions, etc.
  • Write process documentation for I.T. projects
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in a related I.T. position
  • Knowledge of networking including but not limited to IP configurations, switches, routers, VOIP, firewalls, and Wi-Fi
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and M365 (Admin, Exchange, Entra)
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, good time management
  • Solid overall communication, organizational, and writing skills
  • Ability to work patiently and in a professional manner with co-workers, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute
  • Ability to remain focused on the job and be productive
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and self-transportation
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in I.T. or related field or equivalent technical degree/certification/experience
  • Knowledge of MAC OS, MacBook's, iPhones, and iPads
Physical Demands
  • Stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Stoop, kneel, and crouch for short periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional nights and weekends as necessary
  • Travel to local off-site, work-related locations as necessary with mileage reimbursement
