ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Senior Commercial Account Manager plays a vital role within the coverage team, overseeing transactions and managing a diverse business portfolio. This position requires active involvement in the deal-making process, providing insights on suitable credit structures, pricing strategies, and more. The Account Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of a portfolio of accounts, which includes reviewing updated financial statements, proactive monitoring, and collaborating closely with the Credit Analyst.

Accountability for risk management is paramount, which involves open communication of ideas and concerns, adherence to established policies and procedures, and a commitment to ethical practices. The Account Manager is dedicated to ensuring positive experiences for both customers and colleagues while effectively identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting various types of risks within the Bank's risk appetite.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of accounts effectively.
  • Review and provide recommendations for credit decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Relationship Manager to form a cohesive coverage team:
  • Engage with clients and participate in business development initiatives.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of prospective clients.
  • Define borrowers, guarantors, deal structures, credit terms, and financial covenants.
  • Assess collateral value.
  • Draft commitment letters.
  • Assist business partners with credit lending policy interpretation.
  • Conduct final risk rating analyses.
  • Document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications thoroughly.
  • Work alongside the Credit Analyst to fulfill portfolio management duties, including:
  • Establishing and maintaining an Investor Group on the lender portal.
  • Executing monitoring actions and conducting periodic deal reviews.
  • Making informed decisions to renew or modify deals.
  • Communicating directly with clients regarding credit events and necessary actions.
  • Independently pitch complex deal structures.
  • Commit to continuous learning to adapt to evolving market dynamics.
  • Mentor junior Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in credit analysis and/or loan review within Commercial Banking.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking abilities, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor in client-facing situations.
  • Experience managing a complex commercial client portfolio.
  • Ability to collaborate with all stakeholders involved in deals, including clients, relationship managers, and credit teams.
  • Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in technology with a willingness to learn new applications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Standard office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Extended periods of viewing a computer screen.
  • Some travel may be required.
