Job Overview:

As a vital member of the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, you will engage in the evaluation and processing of intricate applications for both facility and individual licenses. Your role is essential in ensuring adherence to relevant regulations while operating within established timelines. You will not only issue licenses and deficiency notifications but also assess when applications should be denied or withdrawn, issuing notices for any appealable agency actions as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process complex applications utilizing various electronic systems in compliance with state laws and agency policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance practices to guarantee accuracy and timeliness in all licensing activities.
  • Engage with the regulated community and other stakeholders, addressing complex inquiries and managing escalated public interactions.
  • Prepare documentation for public records requests and administrative hearings.
  • Process incoming mail and payments, determining eligibility for refunds and initiating the necessary procedures.
  • Continuously seek and implement process improvements to enhance customer experience.
  • Participate in training sessions for licensing coordinators and specialists.
  • Provide advanced administrative support for various licensing projects as directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Successful candidates will possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory principles and state licensing laws.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

An Associate Degree is preferred, with customer service experience considered as a substitute.
