Job Summary:

In this role, you will engage in activities associated with the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, specifically within the Bureau of Long Term Care. Your responsibilities will include issuing licenses and deficiency notifications, as well as making determinations regarding the denial or withdrawal of applications based on a thorough understanding of regulatory standards. You will also issue notices for appealable agency actions when necessary.

Additionally, you will manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including payment processing, and will determine when refunds are warranted, initiating the refund process as required. Your role will involve communication with the regulated community, other regulatory entities, and participation in stakeholder meetings. You will be expected to respond to complex technical inquiries in various formats and manage escalated interactions with the public. A key aspect of your position will be the continuous evaluation and identification of opportunities for process enhancements that positively influence the customer experience. You will also play an active role in training licensing coordinators and specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review complex applications and utilize various electronic systems to process them in accordance with state statutes, rules, and policies.
  • Issue licenses and deficiency notices while determining when applications should be denied or withdrawn.
  • Oversee quality standards to ensure accuracy and timeliness in work completion and data quality.
  • Engage with the regulated community and other public members, addressing complex technical questions and managing escalated interactions.
  • Prepare documentation for public record requests and administrative hearings.
  • Process mail and incoming payments, determining when refunds should be issued.
  • Continuously assess and identify process improvement opportunities to enhance customer experience.
  • Provide advanced administrative support for licensing projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Regulatory principles and practices, along with federal and state laws regarding licensing requirements.
  • State and agency policies governing licensing, applications, and inspections.
