Position Summary

As an FAA Certified 145 Repair Station, Hillsboro Aviation addresses extensive maintenance and avionics requirements. We cater to a range of aircraft, from privately owned planes to corporate fleets, ensuring top-notch service for private, commercial, and governmental needs. Our full-service facility offers avionics support, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, heavy repairs, and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) emergency services. Our mechanics and avionics technicians are factory-trained, boasting an average of over 20 years of industry experience.

In the role of HondaJet Mechanic, you will collaborate closely with the Service Center team to oversee HondaJet maintenance initiatives and provide support for jet, turboprop, and high-performance piston aircraft. Reporting to the Service Center Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Service Center Manager in fulfilling duties as outlined in Hillsboro Aviation's Repair Station Manual (RSM).
  • Ensuring maintenance quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulations for all customer aircraft.
  • Maintaining aircraft in accordance with the approved inspection program.
  • Guaranteeing airworthiness and availability of assigned customer aircraft.

Ideal candidates are proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated; they can operate independently within their areas of responsibility with minimal supervision; they value a strong work ethic and maintain a positive attitude while paying close attention to detail and organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Service Center Manager in executing responsibilities as defined in the Repair Station Manual.
  • Ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining aircraft in line with the approved inspection program.
  • Ensuring the airworthiness and availability of assigned aircraft.
  • Coordinating maintenance logistics to optimize aircraft availability.
  • Upholding high standards for the shop environment, tools, and documentation.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Licenses

  • FAA A&P Certificates.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining turboprop and jet aircraft in a general aviation setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience specifically with HondaJet(s).

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clean record/history with the FAA and primary customer base.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • HondaJet factory training.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Experience with Cirrus, King Airs, Caravans, and Citations.
  • Experience with major repairs and alterations.
  • Experience with non-routine and complex maintenance tasks.
