Position: General Contractor/Assistant Project Manager

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

City Light & Power, Inc. is on the lookout for a skilled General Contractor/Assistant Project Manager to enhance our cadre of engineering specialists.

As a comprehensive electric utility solutions engineering firm, City Light & Power, Inc. boasts over two decades of expertise in the management, enhancement, and operation of electrical utility systems.

The General Contractor/Assistant Project Manager will play a pivotal role in orchestrating construction initiatives from the initial stages of planning through to scheduling, resource distribution, and project financial oversight, culminating in project completion. This position serves as a vital link to ensure that project deliverables align with established scope and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of reports covering all phases of the project and its financial outcomes.
  • Foster and sustain productive relationships with clients, project teams, engineers, subcontractors, and field staff.
  • Support the Project Manager in formulating budgets, schedules, and construction service strategies for various project components.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee activities throughout the project duration.
  • Participate in project meetings, including pre-award, pre-construction, progress assessments, and final close-out discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel and materials.
  • Track progress, ensuring timelines and construction activities adhere to the established schedule.
  • Engage in and oversee the procurement process, cost management, and change control systems.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure construction quality and accuracy.
  • Uphold the company's core safety principles and work in conjunction with the EH&S Director to effectively communicate and enforce safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is highly preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in building construction, materials, systems, or fieldwork is required.
  • Experience with federal government contracting or federal construction projects is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with robust documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Organized problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel between job sites 20-30% outside of Colorado.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Military Base Access Security Clearance will be required.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • We provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and life insurance, along with a 401k plan featuring company contributions, paid time off, and holidays.
  • Salary range: $70,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience, with eligibility for participation in a Short Term Incentive Plan.
  • We reserve the right to adjust compensation based on factors unrelated to sex.
