Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Construction Manager will be accountable for the daily operations of construction projects, ensuring coordination with subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, and adhering to project timelines and budgets.
- Pre-Construction Activities:
a. Analyze contract documents, project specifications, and architectural plans
b. Collaborate with project managers and design teams for necessary clarifications
c. Review and contribute to the construction schedule, identifying key milestones
d. Assist in formulating a comprehensive site logistics plan
e. Ensure all required permits and approvals are secured
f. Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors
g. Uphold and communicate safety and quality control protocols - Site Preparation:
a. Ensure appropriate site access and staging areas are established
b. Set up temporary facilities, including site offices, restrooms, and storage units
c. Implement erosion and sediment control measures as necessary
d. Coordinate utility connections and disconnections
e. Execute site grading and excavation when required - Construction Management:
a. Oversee daily activities with subcontractors and suppliers
b. Facilitate regular site meetings and progress assessments
c. Monitor work quality and compliance with project specifications
d. Address any onsite issues, conflicts, or discrepancies
e. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols
f. Maintain daily logs documenting work completed, workforce, and equipment utilized
g. Track material deliveries and storage
h. Monitor project progress and update the construction schedule
i. Coordinate inspections by local authorities and third-party consultants
j. Manage any necessary changes or revisions to project plans - Quality Assurance:
a. Conduct routine quality assurance inspections
b. Implement corrective measures for any non-conformance or deficiencies
c. Collaborate with third-party testing agencies for quality assurance evaluations
d. Review and approve subcontractors' quality control strategies
e. Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control activities - Safety Oversight:
a. Enforce safety regulations and guidelines on-site
b. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions
c. Provide safety orientation for all personnel
d. Ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
e. Investigate any incidents and implement corrective actions
Project Closeout:
a. Coordinate punch list inspections and ensure all items are completed
