Job Title: Patient Accounting RAC Analyst

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Patient Accounting RAC Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our Medicare and Medicaid claims.

Job Summary

The Patient Accounting RAC Analyst will be responsible for monitoring RAC program updates, generating financial and other relevant information for RAC claims under review, and documenting RAC activity in appropriate systems. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor RAC program updates and communicate potential issues impacting Patient Accounting
  • Generate financial and other relevant information for RAC claims under review
  • Document RAC activity in appropriate systems, including Primes and RACTracker
  • Work with Office of Corporate Compliance & Integrity and other hospital areas to implement operational changes to ensure NM compliance with RAC requirements
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track RAC activity and identify areas of risk
  • Collaborate with the NM Academy and PFS Management to ensure timely, accurate, and regular Compliance Education and Training programs within PFS
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 4-6 years of hospital healthcare experience, with a focus on government programs
  • Knowledge of Recovery Audit Contractor Program, ICD 9/10, CPT, HCPCS & MS-DRG coding, healthcare billing, and medical records
  • Expert user experience with MS Excel and ability to run system queries & reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to listen effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS Word & PowerPoint ability
  • Coding credential (CCS, CPC-H, RHIT, RHIA)
  • Project Management experience
