Media Relations Specialist

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a skilled Media Relations Manager to join our Southwest team in the Western US and Canada Division. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing focused communications and media strategies to advance our conservation goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic communications plans to build awareness, engage target audiences, and influence conservation action.
- Identify communication and media needs and opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Elevate stories from within the Division to regional, national, and global marketing and communications teams.
- Cultivate media contacts on a local and regional level and manage, track, and report on the dissemination of media information.
- Develop key messages and talking points, and may write op-eds and statements.
- Lead on other public relations and visibility-building activities, including identifying and coordinating media tours.
- Provide consultation, media training, coaching, and talking points to spokespersons.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on crisis communications, as needed.

What We OfferThe Nature Conservancy offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on location, qualifications, and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Additionally, we offer flexible work arrangements, including remote work options, and a generous paid time off policy.
