CAGE Engineering Inc. is actively seeking enthusiastic civil engineering interns to become part of our team. Our interns are entrusted with significant responsibilities and provided with limitless opportunities. As a civil engineering intern, you will develop essential technical skills related to the creation of design documents and calculations, including code and ordinance research, site planning, stormwater management calculations, and the preparation of construction documents and permit applications.

A Day in the Life
  • Participate as an integral member of a design team engaged in a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
  • Gain exposure to land development design principles and consulting across diverse projects.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and draft land development plans.
  • Prepare site plans, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site feasibility based on learned constraints.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to review concept plans and discuss various approaches to project direction.
  • Conduct site visits to collect data for design purposes.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing engineering documents using AutoCAD or other design software.
  • Participate in meetings with the project team to discuss timelines, budgets, and design constraints.
Necessary Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance with coursework in civil engineering principles, materials, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Focused, motivated, and results-driven.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to enhance technical skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and accept constructive feedback.
  • Embraces a team-oriented approach and possesses strong communication abilities.
